Declared an Artistic Garden in 1942, the Royal Botanical Garden has among its collections a herbarium with more than one million sheets, the library and the archive, with about 10,000 drawings, as well as the sample of 5000 species of living plants. The tour through the garden and its greenhouses combines general botanical contents, curiosities, history, uniqueness of the specimens, uses of plants and their importance in our lives. It offers guided tours by a monitor to learn about the multitude of species that populate this green corner. 💡Curiosities The current location of the Botanical Garden is not accidental and responds to the interest of the enlightened monarch, Charles III, to create in Madrid a complex dedicated to the natural sciences. That is why it was located next to what is now the Prado Museum.
